Bellevue police have arrested two Bellevue men in connection with a shooting Saturday night (June 22) in Crossroads Park. Descriptions from witnesses and the victims led detectives to narrow in on a few suspects. One of the suspects, age 22, was arrested for assault; the other man, 19, was arrested for rendering criminal assistance, having allegedly driven the first suspect from the scene. Charges have been referred to the King County Prosecutor’s office.
Late Saturday night two young men showed up at Overlake Hospital with gunshot wounds. Police officers went to Overlake then, and the men, 18 and 22 years old, told them they were sitting in a car at the park when another car drove by and the occupants shouted something out the window. An argument escalated into a physical altercation where the suspect fired a gun. The victims suffered serious injuries.
Bellevue detectives are also investigating a shooting that took place early Sunday in Surrey Downs.
Residents of a home on the 100 block of 109th Avenue Southeast reported that someone shot into their home while they were sleeping around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. Police were able to safely get the occupants out of the home and determine that an unknown suspect had shot multiple times at the house. There were no injuries.
