The City of Bellevue has issued a request for proposals for its next solid waste collection contract, inviting qualified companies to submit proposals for providing garbage, recycling and organics collection services.
The anticipated procurement timeline includes proposal evaluations later this year, City Council consideration in 2027 and contract award in mid-2027. The new contract is expected to begin in July 2028 following a transition period.
The competitive procurement process is an important step in ensuring Bellevue continues to provide reliable, cost-effective and sustainable solid waste services to the community. Proposals will be evaluated on a variety of factors, including industry best practices, community needs, compliance with state laws and local policies, and innovative technology.
Companies interested in submitting a proposal must register with the Public Purchase System, the city's online procurement platform, to access solicitation documents and receive procurement updates.
