In celebration of National Day of Service and Remembrance on Wednesday, Sept. 11, Bellevue's senior residents are invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast.
The event, called Honoring our Elders, will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at Crossroads Park, 16000 NE 10th St. Breakfast will be catered by Eques Hyatt Regency Bellevue.
Bellevue residents, age 60 and older, are invited. Attendance will be limited to 200 and interested seniors are asked to RSVP by email at NBCC@bellevuewa.gov, or call 425-452-7681.
Other attractions will include a Senior Resource Fair and giveaways from Microsoft Corp. Breakfast and gift distribution (one gift per person) will begin at 9 a.m. and will continue while supplies last. Participants will observe a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m.
The Senior Resource Fair will offer information on the city's Neighborhood Outreach program, volunteering opportunities for seniors, safety tips from the Bellevue Police, health screenings by Bellevue firefighters, information from community nonprofit organizations and information on free computer and software training from the Microsoft Store at Bellevue Square.
The event, which will take place rain or shine under tents, is sponsored by the City of Bellevue, Microsoft Corp. and Hyatt Regency Bellevue.
