People who live and work in Bellevue will have a chance to show their support for the Seattle Seahawks at a rally in Downtown Park on Friday. Former players, the Sea Gals cheerleaders and Blitz the mascot will all participate in the 2 p.m. pep rally.
The Seahawks are in the NFL playoffs, set to play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Charlotte, N.C. Bellevue's many passionate fans are invited to gather at the north end of the park. Walking, biking and/or taking the bus to the event are encouraged.
Mayor John Stokes will address the crowd at the beginning of the rally sponsored by the city. The half-hour event will feature performances from the Sea Gals and the Blue Thunder band. Former players will speak and take questions. A 12th man flag will be raised at the park.
