Firefighters from four cities put out a house fire Monday afternoon in the 9500 block of Northeast First Street, near downtown Bellevue.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no one was hurt fighting the blaze. Fire investigators estimate damage to the structure at approximately $250,000. The cause of the fire has not yet been undetermined. Bellevue Police detectives were called to the scene to assist fire investigators with the investigation.
The Bellevue Fire Department responded to multiple calls at approximately 3:15 p.m., Monday, arriving at home less than four and a half minutes later. They found the first floor of the home filled with smoke and fire. The fire was brought under control 29 minutes after the first engine company arrived.
Firefighters first attacked the fire through the garage and into the family room. Additional crews entered the second floor, while ladder companies accessed the roof to provide ventilation, aiding firefighting efforts on the lower floors.
Fire companies from Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and Mercer Island responded to the call.
