Bomb cyclone storm impacts

A bomb cyclone windstorm lashed Bellevue the night of Tuesday, Nov. 19, bringing down trees throughout the city and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Most city facilities have power but some are on modified hours or closed due to power outages. Damages from the storm continue to impact Bellevue, prompting the mayor to proclaim a civil emergency in the city. Updates about the city's response will be posted at Bomb Cyclone Storm.

Prepare to be amazed as you wander through up to 2,000 one-of-a-kind hand-blown glass pumpkins. The fifth annual Glass Pumpkin Patch will be on display -- and for sale -- on Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Northwest Arts Center, 9825 NE 24th St.

Entrance is free; children with adult supervision are welcome. Parking is available at the Northwest Arts Center and on adjacent streets. The event will take place rain or shine.

The glass pumpkins have been hand crafted by glass artisans from the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio. Every pumpkin, priced from $35 to $200, has a unique color, shape and size.
