The Bellevue Transportation Commission invites you to a public hearing on the proposed City of Bellevue 2016-2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). If you are interested in certain transportation projects and think they should be included in the citys plan, please come to this public hearing.
The hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Bellevue City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE, Conference Room 1E-113.
The TIP is a six-year draft work plan for the development of local transportation systems. Unlike the Capital Investment Program (CIP) and the Transportation Facilities Plan (TFP), the TIP is not budget-constrained, so it represents a comprehensive list of all ideal transportation projects, regardless of funding, for that six-year timeframe. Inclusion in the TIP allows projects to qualify for state and federal grant programs. The TIP is also used as a tool for coordinating with transportation programs in other agencies and jurisdictions.
The public hearing on April 9 is an opportunity for the Transportation Commission to hear the community's input and opinions on which projects should be implemented if funding becomes available. Following the public hearing, the Transportation Commission will forward a TIP update recommendation to the City Council, which will review and approve the program in May or June.
