The pride flag flies alongside ones for the city, state and country.

In honor of Pride Month, the City of Bellevue and Pride Across the Bridge are joining together to host Pride on the Plaza, an event celebrating our 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

All are welcome to attend the free event at City Hall Plaza in downtown Bellevue on Wednesday, June 3, 3–6 p.m.

The event will open with remarks from councilmembers and city leadership, followed by remarks from Nicky Heavy Runner Chabot. The Bellevue Police Department’s Honor Guard will raise the pride flag over City Hall.

The event will also include food, live music, performances and opportunities to purchase from local vendors. Organizations with information supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community will offer information at resource tables.

”Pride Across the Bridge is grateful to continue building alongside the City of Bellevue to create spaces where our 2SLGBTQIA+ community are visible, celebrated and empowered close to home,” said Axton Burton, executive director of Pride Across the Bridge. “Events like Pride on the Plaza help foster connection, joy and belonging on the Eastside, while reminding our queer neighbors that they are not alone. They are part of a vibrant and growing community woven into the heart of Bellevue year-round.”

"Events like Pride on the Plaza help us build a welcoming Bellevue, one where connection, learning and belonging are at the heart of who we are,” Mayor Mo Malakoutian said. “We remain committed to creating inclusive spaces that honor every identity and uplift the diversity that makes Bellevue the place you want to be."

The City Council plans to recognize Pride Month with a proclamation at the June 3 council meeting.
