Bellevue Police and Fire investigators continue to look into the cause of a suspicious fire that damaged a vacant mosque in Bellevue Wednesday afternoon, March 21.
Around 4:27 p.m. Wednesday, Bellevue Police and Fire responded to a report of a fire at the Islamic Center of Eastside, at 14700 Main St. The building had previously been damaged by an arson on Jan. 14, 2017, and was vacant and without power or natural gas.
Firefighters extinguished the flames and got the fire under control quickly. Police investigators are collaborating with investigators with the Bellevue Fire Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
Bellevue Police are asking for the public's assistance in this investigation. Anyone with video of the fire scene is requested to send that information to PDTipline@bellevuewa.gov.
