Bomb cyclone storm impacts

A bomb cyclone windstorm lashed Bellevue the night of Tuesday, Nov. 19, bringing down trees throughout the city and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Most city facilities have power but some are on modified hours or closed due to power outages. Damages from the storm continue to impact Bellevue, prompting the mayor to proclaim a civil emergency in the city. Updates about the city's response will be posted at Bomb Cyclone Storm.

Bellevue Police are investigating a death after a body was found Saturday at the Ridgedale Apartments, on the 600 block of 141st Court Southeast.

At approximately 2:03 p.m. Bellevue Police and Fire responded after a 9-1-1 call from maintenance workers who found the deceased victim in a vacant apartment. First responders confirmed the death and secured the scene.

Many apartment buildings at the Ridgedale are currently under construction. Flooding in one of the buildings led workers to discover the body as they were turning off water in all units.

Detectives were on the scene Saturday; this is an ongoing investigation. The identity of the deceased is not known at this time. The King County Medical Examiner will release the name of the deceased and the cause of death following their examination and notification of any immediate family.
