The city's Planning Commission will hold a special meeting with guest speakers at Bellevue College to launch the implementation phase for the Eastgate/I-90 Land Use and Transportation Project. Community members are encouraged to attend.
The meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13, begins at 6:30 p.m. in Room D106, adjacent to the library. Bellevue College is located at Southeast 28th Street and 148th Avenue Southeast. Parking in the evening is free, and Lot No. 6 is closest to the meeting room.
In addition to being held away from city hall, the commission meeting is special because it will feature two guest speakers: Ray White, vice president of Bellevue College, and Pat Callahan, CEO of the Urban Renaissance Group, a real estate investment firm.
Both speakers have an interest in the vision and recommendations for the Eastgate/I-90 Project (https://planning.bellevuewa.gov/planning/planning-initiatives/eastgate-land-use-and-transportation-study), which the City Council adopted last year. The purpose of the project was to identify a long-term vision for the corridor. The special Planning Commission meeting is intended to launch the implementation phase of the project.
Following the speaking event, the Planning Commission will conduct its regular meeting, including a study session on Land Use Code conformance amendments necessitated by pending changes to shoreline regulations, and a study session on the city’s Comprehensive Plan Update (https://planning.bellevuewa.gov/planning/comprehensive-planning/comprehensive-planning-overview/).
