The Bellevue Downtown Association Thursday honored the city with a Place Making Award for its "Complete the Circle" project at Downtown Park.
With the completion this summer of the promenade and canal that anchor the park, the Bellevue destination became even better. The Bellevue Rotary Club was also recognized for construction of the accessible Inspiration Playground at the park.
The BDA noted that the park is "iconic, memorable, beautiful and has played a major role in the growth and economic success of downtown Bellevue." With the completion of the circle originally envisioned for the park, "the result is a masterpiece," the BDA said.
In addition, the Rotary Club of Bellevue was recognized Thursday for raising money for the Inspiration Playground, which facilitates play for children of all abilities.
