Bellevue Police traffic investigators are seeking information about a vehicle involved in a serious injury hit and run that occurred on Saturday night, Nov. 9, in the 15200 block of Lake Hills Blvd.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to an injury traffic collision where a 20-year-old pedestrian was struck in the crosswalk and came to rest about 40 feet from where he was hit. There were no witnesses and the Bellevue man didn't see the car that struck him. He was left in the dark, in the rain, against the edge of the roadway up against the curb. Passing motorists found him lying where he landed and called 9-1-1. The victim sustained a serious injury to his leg and was taken to Overlake Hospital.
Some debris was left at the collision scene which led investigators to a possible suspect vehicle of a 2009-2013 Subaru Forester Limited, similar to the photo below.

Tips to drivers and pedestrians:
- For Drivers: Drive for the environment you are in and use care. If it's dark, raining, or a residential area with rec centers and ball fields and marked crosswalks, a slower speed is better. If you hit something and you don't know what it is, STOP and check, just in case it's a person that needs medical assistance.
- For Pedestrians: Do not assume a driver can see you just because you can see the car. The headlight beam only illuminates about 250 feet ahead of the vehicle. If you step into the road because you think you have the right-of-way, you might be dead right.
