Police investigation continues
Last night at approximately 5:05 p.m., two bicycle patrol officers were flagged down by a citizen reporting a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Bellevue Way and Northeast Second Street.
The officers found a 75-year-old Bellevue woman at the scene with life-threatening injuries. Medics transported her to Harborview Medical Center, where she later died.
The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Renton resident, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this case.
Bellevue Way was closed for several hours on Wednesday evening as police investigated. The police investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
