The intersection at 112th Avenue Southeast and Southeast Eighth Street has been partially reopened as work has progressed on sewer improvement work that has kept the intersection closed.
As construction continues the travelling public should expect the following impacts:
- No left turns will be allowed from southbound 112th Avenue Southeast onto Southeast Eighth Street;
- Reduction to just one lane of traffic in each direction on 112th Avenue Southeast between Southeast 15th Street and Southeast Sixth Street.
Southbound traffic on 112th Avenue Southeast can continue to access Interstate 405 by:
- Exiting and entering I-405 at Northeast Fourth Street; or
- Exiting and entering I-405 at Southeast Eighth Street via 114th Avenue Southeast, using Southeast Sixth Street or Main Street to access 114th.
The Bellefield area sewer improvements are needed to replace aging infrastructure and to increase capacity to serve a growing downtown. Current work includes installation of large sewer pipes in 112th Avenue Southeast.
During construction, expect heavy equipment, delivery of materials, noise and traffic delays. We are committed to keeping you informed as the project progresses. We appreciate your patience and flexibility during these improvements.
