The City of Bellevue is accepting applications from organizations seeking to provide culturally and linguistically-specific opioid education, prevention and connection services. The city will pay up to $10,000 in 2026 for the services, with a possible extension for up to four years.
Proposals must be submitted by 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19. The application and other required documents are available at Human Services Funding.
Proposals should address how the applying agency will:
- Provide services that are culturally and linguistically specific and reach populations that speak languages other than English
- Provide free opioid use prevention, education and resource connections to youth, adults and families
- Enhance connections between crisis response workers and community groups focused on opioid use prevention
Background
Several companies involved in opioid manufacturing, distribution and marketing were sued for contributing to the opioid crisis. As part of the resulting settlement, Bellevue and other Washington cities received funds to be used to address the opioid crisis. King County’s Opioid Abatement Council and a cross-departmental work group of city staff from the Fire, Police and Parks & Community Services departments provide oversight on the use of these funds.
