King County is hosting an open house at City Hall Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 p.m., regarding the Eastside Rail Corridor.
This informational event is an opportunity to learn more about how the region is working together to maximize the benefits of the rail corridor between Renton and Woodinville. County staff will be on hand to answer questions, and comment cards will allow residents to share thoughts on what they would like to see for the corridor.
The open house is hosted by the Eastside Rail Corridor Regional Advisory Council, which includes representatives from King County, Kirkland, Redmond, Puget Sound Energy and Sound Transit. Cities and stakeholders along the corridor are also involved in comparing and combining planning efforts.
In March, stakeholder groups and community members celebrated a nearly decade-long effort to preserve and acquire the Eastside rail corridor for public use. The corridor's owners are collaboratively planning for the future of this important multi-use corridor.
The Eastside Rail Corridor Regional Advisory Council is working to develop a shared vision for the corridor, hear from stakeholders and interested community members, and make recommendations about how the corridor can best be planned for trail, rail and utility uses.
