Tracy Jones, a project manager with the management-consulting firm Grant Thornton, has been appointed executive director for the eCityGov Alliance. She comes on board on June 30.
The eCityGov Alliance is a partnership of eight cities that develops cross-jurisdictional service portals including mybuildingpermit.com, myparksandrecreation.com and nwproperty.net. More than 20 public agencies subscribe to offer their services through these websites.
As project manager with Chicago-based Grant Thornton since 2005, Jones managed major technology-related business projects for public-sector clients. "The board and interview panels were very impressed with her credentials, her work experience and her genuine enthusiasm for the position and the Alliance," Bob Harrison, chair of the eCityGov Alliance executive board, wrote in an email after the appointment.
The principal partners of the Alliance are the cities of Bellevue, Bothell, Issaquah, Kenmore, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Sammamish and Snoqualmie. The 20-plus subscribers include cities, counties, special purpose districts, libraries and housing authorities, collectively serving a population of more than 1.65 million people.
