Residents are invited to the first Neighborhood Leadership Gathering of 2018 on Tuesday, Feb. 27 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The program will feature new Director of Planning and Community Development Mac Cummins, who will discuss the philosophy that drives growth throughout Bellevue. Topics will include the city’s broader approach to development and the impact on the community’s unique neighborhoods.
As part of the 2018 event, the city is encouraging residents to take a few minutes to complete a short survey, regardless of whether they can attend. The survey will be available until Friday, Feb. 23. Cummins will be sharing results and highlighting trends and feedback from the community members. This evening will also provide an opportunity for questions, taken from both the survey and the audience.
Cummins came to Bellevue from Westminster, Colo., where he served as planning director for nine years. In his current role he serves as a key advisor to the City Council on economic development, land use and growth issues that face the city. Cummins is enthusiastic about Bellevue’s emergence as a vibrant international center for innovation and commerce, balanced with safe, attractive neighborhoods.
The Neighborhood Leadership Gathering is a semi-annual gathering open to anyone who cares about the health and well-being of Bellevue’s neighborhoods. The event is hosted by the city’s Neighborhood Outreach team. The conversations provide actionable feedback to the city and help to shape the future of Bellevue.
Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at neighborhoodoutreach@bellevuewa.gov or 425-452-6836. The event will include a light dessert.
