Bomb cyclone storm impacts

A bomb cyclone windstorm lashed Bellevue the night of Tuesday, Nov. 19, bringing down trees throughout the city and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Most city facilities have power but some are on modified hours or closed due to power outages. Damages from the storm continue to impact Bellevue, prompting the mayor to proclaim a civil emergency in the city. Updates about the city's response will be posted at Bomb Cyclone Storm.

For more than a year, from Monday, Aug 12, through October of 2014, lanes on Northeast Second and Third places will be closed between 110th and 111th avenues to accommodate construction work at the Marriott Hotel.

Northeast Second Place will be open to eastbound traffic only, accessible from 110th Avenue, and Northeast Third Place will be open to westbound traffic only, accessible from 111th Avenue. These will be around-the-clock restrictions.

Road closures will be marked with signs. Drivers should plan trips accordingly. Bicyclists and pedestrians should exercise caution when moving through the construction zone.
