Opening ceremony at noon with Police Chief Steve Mylett, Fire Chief Mark Risen and Comic Book Characters for Causes
The Bellevue Police invite members of the community to a National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 4, noon-5 p.m., at the Crossroads Farmers Market, in the east parking lot of the Crossroads Mall. With a "celebrate our heroes" theme, the event offers an opportunity to promote police and community partnerships, and offers residents a chance to learn how to work with the police to prevent and reduce crime and strengthen neighborhood safety, spirit and cooperation.
Attendees will have opportunities to meet members of Bellevue's Police and Fire departments and get a picture with a comic book hero as part of the King County Library System's "Every Hero Has a Story" summer reading program. You can also view police vehicles and equipment, learn about the pedestrian safety program, "Stop, Look and Listen," and meet "Pedbee," the safety mascot.
