Bellevue Police have arrested an adult male suspect for the murder of a 72-year-old female Bellevue resident. Information lead detectives to the suspect and he was contacted and arrested in downtown Bellevue.
Sunday night at approximately 8:45 p.m. a family member of the deceased called 9-1-1 after finding her dead in her apartment located on the 10300 block of Northeast 12th Street. First responders confirmed the death and the possibility of foul play. The apartment was secured while detectives obtained a search warrant to re-enter the apartment.
Monday morning, detectives executed the search warrant on the apartment and confirmed the death appeared to be a homicide. State Patrol Crime Lab technicians were called in to assist Bellevue detectives with processing the crime scene.
The case is an ongoing investigation. When completed, the case will be submitted to the King County Prosecutor's Office for review and charging decisions. The identity of the suspect will not be released until after he is charged.
The King County Medical Examiner will release the name of the deceased after their examination and after the all immediate family has been notified.
