With help from On The Move Bellevue, Bellevue workers, students and residents can make strides toward a greener way of travel by leaving their cars at home and taking the bus, walking, carpooling, vanpooling, teleworking or working an alternative work schedule that reduces commute days.
On The Move Bellevue is a local online transportation program in which participants can log their daily travel on an interactive calendar, quantify savings from not driving alone and find a ride match in a carpool or vanpool.
On The Move Bellevue staff strives to keep commuting and non-drive-alone travel fresh and fun with monthly promotions and campaigns. By logging trips in the interactive calendar, participants qualify for monthly drawings and discounts at local businesses and restaurants. Taking the bus to the mall, carpooling to work or biking to the park are all trips that participants can log, and the combinations between modes are endless!
Currently, anyone who registers for On The Move Bellevue can take the "Make A Change" pledge to change at least eight days of driving alone per month to a different mode of travel, and be entered to win one of 25 $25 gift cards.
In the "Mover of the Month" drawing, participants who log at least eight non-drive-alone days in a month are entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card. Those who fulfill the Make A Change pledge will also be invited to take the "Maintain The Momentum" survey three to six months later to be entered to win another $25 gift card.
The City of Bellevue, King County Metro and the Bellevue Downtown Association have launched On the Move as a part of their Choose Your Way Bellevue program, which promotes alternatives to drive-alone commuting.
