A Celebration of a Dream --a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will be held Monday, January 20, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at Crossroads Bellevue Shopping Center Market Stage (corner of Northeast Eighth St. and 156th Avenue Northeast).
The event is free and will feature a variety of entertainment, guest speakers, a health resource fair, cooking and fitness demonstrations, and crafts for children.
Entertainment will include: Seattle Peace Chorus singing a repertoire of international and American-based choral selections; Eastside Dream Elite Cheer Squad; Hawaiian guitarist Elias Kauhane; the Sonny Byers Band, known for its classic rhythm and blues sound; the popular Total Experience Gospel Choir; and a Zumba demonstration provided by Crunch Fitness Bellevue. The Health and Resource Fair is sponsored by the Bellevue Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and will feature representatives from Bellevue Fire Prevention, Bellevue Wellness, Bellevue YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound, Bright Now Dental, Center for MultiCultural Health, Cierra Sisters and Evergreen Mobile Mammography Coach.
The event is sponsored by the Parks & Community Services Cultural Diversity program, Bellevue Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and King County Libraries.
