Do you want to be able to resolve differences? The Bellevue Neighborhood Mediation Program, in collaboration with Bellevue College, is offering a 40-hour basic mediation training in which people can learn the core skills needed to manage conflicts in their personal and professional lives, as well as tools to help others.
The training will be at Bellevue College -- April 6 and 13: 5-9 p.m., and April 8, 9, 15 and 16: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. This is core training taught in all dispute resolution centers, and is the first step to becoming a certified mediator. Please register by March 23.
The Neighborhood Mediation Program is celebrating 20 years of helping the citizens of Bellevue resolve their conflicts through mediation, coaching and training. Hundreds of volunteers have been trained to conciliate and mediate conflicts between neighbors, landlords and tenants, consumers, parents and teens. In addition, the program provides community facilitations on a wide range of topics.
The instructors, Cheryl Cohen and Marci McReynolds, are trained mediators and co-managers of Neighborhood Mediation. Some of the curriculum may be taught by guest presenters.
The cost of the training is $495, payable to Bellevue College. For more information, please call the Bellevue Neighborhood Mediation Program at 425-452-4091.
