Lifeguards will be monitoring swim areas daily at five Bellevue beach parks through Labor Day. The swim areas at Enatai, Meydenbauer Bay, Chism, Clyde and Newcastle Beach parks will have lifeguards noon-7 p.m., seven days a week, through Sept. 7.
Chesterfield park, a small park with less use, will not have lifeguards for the remainder of the summer.
People are not required to wear face coverings while swimming, but should wear them when unable to stay at least six feet away from others.
Beach lifeguards do not wear masks when they are sitting in the elevated lifeguard chairs so that they can communicate safety messages clearly to park visitors.
Swimmers are advised to know their physical limits, understand the water conditions and swim in areas with lifeguards. More information about Bellevue’s swim beaches is available at Parks & Community Services.
