LIDAR may look a little like a video game, but it's actually a kind of technology that helps computers track cars and people biking or walking in selected Bellevue intersections. Part of a Safer Signals pilot Transportation is testing, computers using LIDAR can make walk signals last longer in real time if someone's walking slow.
Safer Signals is featured on this month's Lake to Lake news show, along with our second annual Bellevue International Festival, which drew a crowd to Crossroads Park, and Safe Speeds Bellevue, a project exploring lowering speed limits on many Bellevue streets.
