Day of Sharing and Caring is back with new name
Homeowners who need help with yard maintenance and/or outside home improvement because of physical or financial hardship can apply for it from a team of volunteers mobilized through Jubilee in the Community.
Jubilee in the Community, previously known as the Day of Sharing and Caring, is a long-standing partnership of the City of Bellevue and Jubilee REACH. Jubilee REACH and the city coordinate a team of volunteers for the annual program.
Anyone in need, due to economic or other life challenges, is welcome to apply. Long-time residents who are on a fixed or low income, are elderly or have little means of support are all welcome to apply. To qualify, applicants must own and occupy their home in Bellevue. This program is free to Bellevue residents. However, some projects require homeowners to assist with minimal material costs.
Examples of assistance include:
- Yard clean-ups
- Bark and gravel spreading
- Power washing: driveways, decks, fences
- Fence, gate, shed or deck repair and painting
- Junk hauling
People can apply online in English, español, 简体中文, 繁體中文,日本語, 한국어, Pусский and Tiếng Việt. Or they can pick up a hard copy at City Hall, fill it out and return it to City Hall by mail or by hand. People can call Sarina Miller (425-452-4295) for help completing the application.
