Guang-an "GW" Wu, one of Bellevue's unofficial census ambassadors, is featured in It's Your City this month. The Somerset resident is a data expert at Microsoft and a champion for the 2020 census because he knows an accurate count of Bellevue residents means more federal funding for our city and fair representation for Bellevue in the state and federal governments.
The February issue of the resident newsletter, which went to residences and businesses in a print version last week, also includes a front-page article about the City Council's selection of Lynne Robinson as mayor and Jared Nieuwenhuis as deputy mayor. For the Council Corner column, Councilmember Janice Zahn explains how the city is planning for continued success.
Also covered in It's Your City are:
- a young activist pushing for more equity in schools and government;
- an update of the environmental stewardship plan now in progress;
- Welcome to City Hall events coming up this spring; and
- the groundbreaking for a new mosque.
It's Your City comes out three times a year – in February, June and October. Previous issues are also available online.
