Bellevue utilities crews responded to a water main break Wednesday morning in the 14700 block of Southeast Allen Road, closing the street between 140th Avenue Southeast and 149th Avenue Southeast. Traffic is being diverted from the area.
Around the same time, a Puget Sound Energy gas main break occurred on Southeast Allen Road, causing residents from seven homes to be evacuated. PSE crews are working on-site, and Bellevue Utilities crews are standing by to repair the water main.
There was no property damage due to the water main break and no injuries.
Twenty-two homes were without water; city crews expect service to be restored late Wednesday afternoon. The cause of the 6-inch water main break is unknown at this time, and crews will be checking the site further for possible causes.
