The Bellevue Human Services Commission will hold a public hearing on housing and human services needs on Monday, Oct. 5, 6 p.m., at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE.
The human services division of the Parks & Community Services Department addresses income disparities and supports thriving communities by funding key services such as access to food and basic needs, shelter services and homelessness prevention, and financial assistance.
The information gathered at the hearing, along with other findings based on community outreach, will inform the commission’s funding recommendations to the City Council and the development of the 2027 Community Development Block Grant annual action plan.
The hearing, accessible both online and in person, will provide the public with an opportunity to comment on the human services needs of the Bellevue community, along with funding recommendations for the 2027 CDBG program year. The 2027 CDBG funding allocations are contingent on the city receiving its 2027 annual formula allocation from HUD.
The meeting agenda will be available on the Human Services Commission calendar on Oct.1, with details on how to access it online.
Written comments can be submitted to the Human Services Commission at humanservicescommission@bellevuewa.gov and by noon on Oct. 5.
The city is developing its draft 2027 CDBG action plan according to the federal requirement to adopt a citizen participation plan (24 CFR 91.105). The action plan outlines the proposed use of potential 2027 funds awarded by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development and will be posted for public comment for 30 days following the Oct. 5 hearing.
