Bomb cyclone storm impacts

A bomb cyclone windstorm lashed Bellevue the night of Tuesday, Nov. 19, bringing down trees throughout the city and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Most city facilities have power but some are on modified hours or closed due to power outages. Damages from the storm continue to impact Bellevue, prompting the mayor to proclaim a civil emergency in the city. Updates about the city's response will be posted at Bomb Cyclone Storm.

Bellevue Utilities will typically contact you in advance if they need to access your home for repairs or inspections. If you are unsure, call Bellevue Utilities at 425-452-6932 to confirm if someone is supposed to be at your home.

Bellevue Utilities is seeking input from customers as it considers where future projects should go in its priority list. Residents and others in Utilities' service district are invited to rank the possible projects themselves in an online survey, live through Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Every two years, as part of the budgeting process, the department determines which future projects are most essential to its continued provision of reliable drinking water, wastewater, and storm and surface water services. Bellevue Utilities is just beginning that prioritization.
