Tuesdays and Thursdays through Dec. 17
Worried about those holiday feasts weighing you down? South Bellevue Community Center offers a counterbalance with free virtual fitness classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon through Dec. 17.
“Cardio Fun with Joan” and “Strength and Core with Andres” are now available. For a complete workout take both classes. There are level 1 (beginner) and level 2 versions of each class. No equipment is needed.
Prior to the facility’s closure in March due to the pandemic, SBCC offered over 60 fitness classes per week, along with access to a fully equipped fitness center.
In response to requests for at-home exercise opportunities during the closure, fitness program managers Joan Perugini and Andres Calderon started planning virtual fitness classes. With technological and operational barriers overcome in October, these classes, Parks’ first venture into live-stream programming, offer a way to connect with the fitness community.
SBCC is initially offering these classes – live video on Zoom – on a free, trial basis. These classes and others will be available in January at a reasonable cost. Preregistration is required. Sign up for each class separately at Register.BellevueWA.gov. Click the “Location” tab and select “South Bellevue Community Center” from the dropdown menu to find classes.
If you have questions or suggestions for other virtual fitness classes, please call South Bellevue Community Center at 425-452-4240 or email jperugini@bellevuewa.gov.
