Bomb cyclone storm impacts

A bomb cyclone windstorm lashed Bellevue the night of Tuesday, Nov. 19, bringing down trees throughout the city and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Most city facilities have power but some are on modified hours or closed due to power outages. Damages from the storm continue to impact Bellevue, prompting the mayor to proclaim a civil emergency in the city. Updates about the city's response will be posted at Bomb Cyclone Storm.

Bellevue Parks & Community Services will offer free parking and shuttle service to the Southeast 40th Street Boat Launch over Seafair weekend. The parking and shuttle will be available at the lower parking lot of Newport High School, 4333 Factoria Blvd., 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3, through Sunday, Aug. 5.

Parks staff and Bellevue police officers will be at the boat launch to assist boaters and ensure safety.

The launch fee is $17 for non-season pass holders. The three-day launch pass is not valid over Seafair weekend. To accommodate incoming boats, no launching will be permitted after 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Safety reminders

Children age 12 and under must wear personal flotation devices while on boats under 19 feet long.
All boats should have personal flotation devices for everyone aboard.
It is illegal to consume alcoholic beverages while operating watercraft.
