A fire early Wednesday morning caused significant damage to two businesses, A&M Auto Repair and Superior Towing, at 13551 SE 27th Pl., in the College Hill area of south Bellevue.
Two Bellevue Fire Department crews responded to the emergency dispatch call at 1:02 a.m. They arrived five minutes later to find a two-story commercial structure in flames, with fire coming through the center section of the roof and from all sides of the building. A second alarm was quickly called to for assistance..
Crews contained the fire while protecting adjacent businesses. The fire was extinguished at 2:20 a.m. Crews were able to access the business offices and recover some business items in efforts to assist business owners.
Fire companies from Bellevue, Mercer Island and Eastside Fire and Rescue assisted. Bellevue Police assisted with traffic control and scene security.
Investigators are working to determine the source and cause of fire.
