A traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car turned deadly Friday at 6 p.m. Bellevue Police and firefighter-paramedics responded to a collision in the intersection of Northeast 10th Street and 102nd Avenue Northeast within four minutes. The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man, was immediately transported to Overlake Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The two vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection when the driver of the car attempted to make a left turn to northbound 102nd Avenue. Witnesses attempted CPR on the motorcyclist until medics arrived.
After the initial interview of the driver of the car, police placed the 33-year-old Bellevue man into custody for investigation of vehicular homicide. He will be booked into King County Jail.
Accident investigators were on scene for several hours continuing the investigation.
The King County Medical Examiner will release the name of the deceased after their examination and the immediate family has been notified.
