Social distancing for all activities encouraged
With nice weather on the way this weekend, Bellevue Parks & Community Services is encouraging park visitors to practice social distancing when enjoying outdoor activities, and respect continued closures of certain amenities.
All Bellevue parks and trails are open. Some amenities, including playgrounds, ballfields, sports courts and picnic areas are still closed. The pier at Meydenbauer Bay Park is also closed since it is difficult to maintain six feet of physical separation.
Downtown Park is open, but residents are reminded that the parking lots at the park are closed, with the exception of accessible parking spots in the southern lot.
Park rangers are patrolling parks daily throughout the city, with an emphasis on the most popular gathering places. Rangers will educate park visitors and explain the importance of social distancing to reduce the spread of the virus.
Signs are in place at parks, reminding visitors to maintain a distance of six feet from others. Updates on status of parks and specific amenities are available at Parks & Community Services.
