The Enatai Beach Park swimming area reopened Friday, July 7, after a nine-day closure due to high bacteria levels in the water. Lifeguards are posted at Newcastle, Enatai, Chism and Meydenbauer Bay parks.
The closure came at the direction of Public Health – Seattle & King County, which routinely tests water quality at freshwater swimming beaches throughout the area.
The swimming areas at Meydenbauer Bay and Newcastle Beach parks have been open with lifeguards since June 24. While Enatai was closed for swimming, lifeguards there were shifted to Chism Beach Park. Lifeguards are now at all four parks noon-7 p.m., seven days a week. Lifeguards are not at Clyde or Chesterfield parks.
