The City of Bellevue will host Building Belonging: Diversity Advantage Plan 2035, a community open house on Thursday, Nov. 19, 6-8 p.m. at City Hall. The event will provide an update on the city's progress implementing the Diversity Advantage Plan 2035 and offer opportunities for community members to learn more about ongoing efforts to advance diversity, equity and inclusion.

City staff will share updates on the plan, highlighting projects and initiatives that support the city’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Attendees will also get a first look at a new online dashboard designed to track progress toward the plan's goals and objectives. Reserve a spot at the meeting.

Guests will be welcomed with a special performance by the Bellevue School District’s Highland Middle School Mariachi. Dinner and family-friendly activities will be provided.

Adopted by the City Council in December 2025, DAP 2035 is a citywide strategic plan that embeds diversity, equity and inclusion into Bellevue’s operations, community-facing services and organizational culture. A reflection of the city’s DEI core value, the plan identifies a shared vision for a more equitable community and outlines 41 long-term equity objectives shaped by both community input and city priorities. These objectives are aligned with the council’s strategic target areas.

Members of the Bellevue Equity Advisory and Community Outreach Network (BEACON) will also be available to share information about their work and how community members can get involved. Working alongside Bellevue's diverse communities, BEACON advises the city on ways to make programs and services more accessible, equitable and culturally responsive, with a focus on reducing barriers for residents who face the greatest challenges in accessing city resources.
