Residents in need of outside home maintenance and repairs have until June 3 to apply for help from a team of volunteers as part of the 2014 "Day of Sharing and Caring."
Now in its seventh year, Sharing and Caring volunteers will tackle outside improvements at about 20 Bellevue homes, including repair, painting, deck replacement, yard work and carport cleanup. The event is a partnership between the City of Bellevue and Jubilee Reach, a Bellevue-based nonprofit.
Bellevue residents can request a home improvement application by contacting Gary King, at 206-419-5238 or garyk@jubileereach.org. The deadline for applications is June 3. In order to be considered, applicants must own and occupy their home in Bellevue. Selection is need-based, and residents facing economic or other life challenges are encouraged to apply.
A committee representing Jubilee Reach will review applications and select projects. Residents whose projects are selected will be notified by July 21. Day of Sharing and Caring is scheduled for August 23.
If a group of neighbors, a neighborhood association, community club or business would like to volunteer on August 23 to help a neighbor or other Bellevue resident with repairs, register with Jubilee Reach .
