At the next Cultural Conversations on Tuesday, Dec. 4, participants will be invited to take on a creative challenge: tell your story in only six words.
The conversation will be 1-2:30 p.m. at Crossroads Community Center, 16000 NE 10th St. The community is invited to ring in the season of connection around holidays and festivals by sharing very brief reflections on one of three themes: who they are, where they call home and what community means to them. In intimate groups, women will share their six-word stories, reflecting on their life experiences.
Inspired by an article from the New York Times, “Summing It Up (in Six Words),” this Cultural Conversations will cultivate an environment of safe sharing. Whether participants simply wish to listen or want to share a personal story, there is a place for them at December’s Cultural Conversations.
The event is free, refreshments are provided and women of all ages, faiths and cultures are welcome to attend. To fully participate in the sharing, attendees are advised to arrange for child care. The event is recommended for individuals ages13 and up.
