On Sept. 29, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., the city of Bellevue will begin a new series of seven gatherings for the popular Cultural Conversations program at the Crossroads Community Center, 1600 NE 10th St. The meetings are free and offer women of all ages, faiths and cultures an opportunity to tell their unique stories.
This season's first topic will explore how cultural journeying and connecting with diverse women throughout the community has expanded participant awareness, the reasons why regular attendees invite others to join and what keeps them coming back.
Beginning its sixth season, Cultural Conversations was launched in 2010 as a partnership between diverse women in the community and the city of Bellevue. This 2015-2016 season will also include meetings on Oct. 27, Dec. 8, Feb. 3 (community wide forum at city hall), March 8, Apr. 12 and May 17. The program invites women to connect to the Eastside community and share their stories. It was initiated by women with a desire to get better connected with their community and enhance their understanding of different cultural practices.
The events are free, refreshments are served and all women are welcome to attend. If applicable, participants are encouraged to make arrangements for child care.
