Do you know a Bellevue child or teen who has championed a cause, served the community or advocated for diversity and social justice? Nominations are now open for the 34th annual Community Leadership Awards.
The awards are sponsored by Bellevue Youth Link, a youth leadership program supported by the City of Bellevue and Bellevue School District.
At Community Leadership Awards, you can find background information about each award category and submit an online nomination through 5 p.m., Friday, May 3. Awards will be presented Wednesday, May 22, 6 p.m., at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE, followed by a reception at 7:30. The event will be free and open to the public.
Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:
- Advocacy for Cultural and Heritage Pride
- Advocacy for Education
- Advocacy for Family Support
- Advocacy for Social Justice – Group
- Advocacy for Social Justice – Individual
- Advocacy for Well Being
- Advocacy in Sports and Recreation
- Environmental Champion
- Excellence in Youth Arts
- Outstanding Creative and Innovative Thinker
- Outstanding Elementary School Student
- Outstanding Middle School Student
- Outstanding High School Student
- Outstanding Inclusivity and Allyship
- Outstanding Youth Volunteer
- Unsung Hero
- Norm Maleng Social Justice Award*
- Bellevue Youth Council “MVP” Award*
- Phil Kushlan Volunteer Award*
*Bellevue Youth Link participation is required for these awards.
Youth Link has been providing innovative leadership and community service programming for students since the early 1990s. Youth Link’s mission is to provide a platform for youth voices while engaging participants in leadership and community service opportunities.
