Bellevue property owners can request changes to the city’s comprehensive plan, with applications due by Sept. 15. Owners must meet with staff and obtain a submittal letter before they can apply.
In recent years, comprehensive plan amendments approved by the city included changes to zoning for specific sites in Wilburton and Cougar Mountain to allow more housing. Amendments sought in applications this fall could take effect in 2021.
Bellevue’s Comprehensive Plan is the city’s foundational policy document, guiding growth and development here for the next 20 years. The maps, goals and policies of the plan provide the basis for Bellevue's regulations, programs and services (story map).
Proposed amendments to the plan are considered every year. Proposals for site-specific amendments, which can only be made by the owner of the property, are due in September. Please contact planner Nicholas Matz (425-452-5371 or nmatz@bellevuewa.gov) to find out more information or begin the process to apply.
