Just like many of our residents, city officials are closely monitoring how changes on the federal level may impact us locally on key issues such as immigration.
Right now, we are still evaluating how the executive orders issued by President Trump in January will impact us here. What we do know is that the City of Bellevue remains strongly committed to our policy of inclusion. Bellevue police officers don't inquire about immigration status during contact with suspects, witnesses or victims, and we don't see that policy changing.
The city is committed to ensuring that everyone is safe and feels safe in our community. If you or your family feel unsafe or need help, or you witness incidents of harassment or bullying, please reach out to city staff or the Bellevue Police.
As a community, we value the diversity of all of our residents and businesses, and that is something you can be assured of, moving forward. In the days and weeks ahead, we will continue to communicate with you what we know about these federal changes and what they mean for Bellevue.
This Executive Order statement is available translated into multiple languages.
