The “Connections Café: Skills for a Well-Balanced Life” will host its second of four workshops on Thursday, March 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Newport Way Library, 14250 SE Newport Way. Through a partnership between the city's Neighborhood Mediation Program and the King County Library System, the new education series is focused on helping people learn skills to connect with themselves and each other in an increasingly complex, fast-changing and diverse community.
The March 15 class will highlight resiliency skills. The city’s Mediation co-manager Marcia McReynolds will help attendees understand the skills one can practice in order be more grounded during situations that often cause inner disturbance. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience ways of calming the body and mind, while leveraging troubling events as useful lessons for personal growth.
Seating at the library event is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Interested individuals are encouraged to come early to be guaranteed a seat. The King County Library System has additional information on the event.
