Bellevue police have arrested a 24-year-old Seattle woman suspected of a carjacking in the Lake Hills area on Friday.
At 9:56 p.m., on Friday, police responded to a report of a carjacking on the 15600 block of Southeast 10th Street. It was reported that two women drove to their residence and parked in the driveway when a black woman wearing a black jacket assaulted and threatened to shoot the driver.
The driver and passenger exited the car, and the suspect drove away in the stolen car. About five minutes later patrol officers found the stolen car crashed into a retaining wall at the northeast corner of 156th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Sixth Street.
The officers found a woman matching the suspect's description at approximately 10:12. at the corner of 106th Avenue and Northeast Ninth Place. As officers approached the suspect, she yelled out, "you got the wrong person." The suspect was positively identified and arrested. When police searched her, they found a handgun stolen in a Seattle burglary on May 18. The suspect has two felony convictions -- for car theft and third-degree assault.
Shortly thereafter, officers found a stolen vehicle with stolen items inside on the 1700 block of 153rd Avenue Southeast, near the location of the carjacking. A K-9 track from this location followed the suspect's path to the 15600 block of Southeast 10 Street.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail, expected to be charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and motor vehicle theft.
