Bellevue Magic Season, the Eastside's leading collection of holiday events, rings into action Friday, with skating and drummers downtown, and dazzling Garden d'Lights beginning Saturday at the Bellevue Botanical Garden. video

For six festive weeks, through Jan. 12, people can enjoy all of the Magic Season highlights, including:
- Snowflake Lane at The Bellevue Collection: Live toy soldiers keep the beat nightly at 7 p.m., Nov. 29-Dec. 24;
- Garden d'Lights: The Construction Edition: A dazzling show named best garden light show in the state, the event runs Nov. 30-Jan. 4, 5-9:30 p.m. at the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Even though the garden is in the middle of a huge construction project, this year's highlights include a revised layout, with a new entrance to the display. Advance tickets are required and available for $5 at Garden d'Lights;
- Chaplin's Bellevue Subaru Ice Arena brought to you by Bank of America: At Bellevue Downtown Park, the region's largest covered, open-air ice rink, open Nov. 29-Jan. 12;
- The Theatre at Meydenbauer Center: A collection of holiday performances running Nov. 29 - Dec. 23;
- Hilltop Holiday Bellevue Craft Show: Featuring thousands of handcrafted items at Northwest Arts Center Dec. 4-7, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday;
- Seattle Civic Christmas Ship Celebrations: Warm up to a beach fire and enjoy a free holiday celebration to welcome the Seattle Civic Christmas Ships, Dec. 5, 8:50-9:10 p.m. at Newcastle Beach Park, and Dec. 15, 6:25-6:45 p.m. at Meydenbauer Beach Park; and
- KidsQuest Children's Museum Gingerbread Lane: Family Gingerbread Workshops, Dec. 12-15, and Gingerbread Houses on Display at Hilton Hotel Bellevue, Dec. 7-20.
