The City of Bellevue is letting residents and businesses know that Bellevue's water is safe to drink. Mercer Island issued a boil water advisory on Sept. 27, 2014. Extensive testing over the past two days of Seattle Public Utility's distribution system, which provides water to 1.5 million customers in the greater Seattle area, has shown that the problem is isolated to Mercer Island. Bellevue provides drinking water to Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Medina, Yarrow Point, and Hunts Point. The city monitors and tests its drinking water daily to ensure that it is safe to drink and meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards.
