Bomb cyclone storm impacts

A bomb cyclone windstorm lashed Bellevue the night of Tuesday, Nov. 19, bringing down trees throughout the city and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Most city facilities have power but some are on modified hours or closed due to power outages. Early on Saturday, April 28, a Bellevue police officer was arrested after an allegation of a domestic violence assault. The assault was alleged to have occurred approximately three weeks ago in Bellevue. The officer was arrested for fourth-degree assault and booked into the King County jail.

The officer, a 16-year veteran of the department, has been placed on paid administrative leave while this allegation is investigated. He is not being named at this time, as he has not been charged with any crime.

The Bellevue Police Department has asked the King County Sheriff’s Office to take the lead on the internal investigation, to avoid any conflicts of interest and to ensure an unbiased and impartial investigation.
